Thank You - Thank You - Thank You (Dec. 23, 2010)

To all who braved the weather to attend “Christmas Past, Present and Future” which was presented at the Schauer Center by the Hartford Community Chorus;

(a reschedule of the cancelled concert will be held on January 30, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. at Holy Hill);

To all the readers, instrumentalists, soloists and singers whose performances were so inspiring;

To the Wisconsin Choral Director’s Association for the beautifully framed page from the up-coming WCDA Convention and the presentation by Roger Trader;

To Tom Robbins and the Schauer Center for the meaningful Reception and for giving the Hartford Community Chorus the opportunity to perform music so dear to us – the Christmas portion of Handel’s MESSIAH - with the Kettle Moraine Symphony Chamber Orchestra.  It was an experience I never dreamed I would ever have;

To the greater Hartford area for supporting the Chorus with your attendance at concerts and for the many honors you have showered upon me in the 50 years I have directed the Hartford Community Chorus including the Proclamation by Mayor Dautermann of December 12, 2010 as Ruth A. Knoll Day and receiving a Key to the City.

My life has been blessed a hundred-fold by all of you.  Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.

Most sincerely,

Ruth A. Knoll

The Chorus has been selected to sing at the Wisconsin Choral Directors State Convention. The convention will be held in Green Bay, January 20-22, 2011. Check out the synopsis here on the WCDA web site.

Our performance will be at 1:15 PM on Saturday, January 22 at Green Bay West High School's Ralph Holter Auditorium. We will sing a 30-min. program of secular and patriotic selections, as well as both of Dennis Janzer's commissioned works that will debuted at our Dec. 11th 50th Anniversary Christmas Concert.

THERE AREN'T ENOUGH WORDS TO SAY – THANK YOU (May 7, 2010)

To all of you who had anything to do with the incredible 50th Anniversary Celebration I had with the Hartford Community Chorus on May 1 and 2.

This includes:

... those who organized the surprise establishment of the Ruth A. Knoll  Scholarship (under the auspices of the B.E.S.T. Scholarship Fund) and to all those who contributed so generously to make it happen;

... those who organized and or who attended the wonderful banquet held in my honor in Pikes Peak and especially to the Choir officers Mary Friedemann, Aileen Thorne, Ken French and Bonnie Busch;

... those who shared their memories with such kind words at the banquet;

... The First National Bank and The Hartford Savings Bank who honored the Chorus with the printing of the concert programs;

... Mike Hermann and the Recreation Dept. staff for their behind the scenes work and to the City of Hartford for believing in us for 50 years;
the warm reception given to me and the Choir by those in attendance at either the Holy Hill or the Schauer Center concerts;

... all the singers whose commitment to excellence created two memorable concerts and to Jim Mohr, narrator and Ken French,  accompanist,. who provided such wonderful support.

These past 50 years have seemingly flown by and have left me with a wealth of memories and wonderful friends. I am humbled by the outpouring of your responses. The “gift of song” is truly a “gift of love”.

Most sincerely,
Ruth A. Knoll, Director, Hartford Community Chorus
